Ansar Allah Opens the Road to Aden and The Mercenaries Flee, the Puppet Government Collapses

Ansar Allah Opens the Road to Aden And The Mercenaries Flee, the Puppet Government Collapses

October 14, 2026 | Taiz

The besieged Saudi-backed mercenaries trapped in Jabal Han and the Sharab junction on the western front of Taiz have been given a choice. They chose to run. Ansar Allah has allowed the encircled forces to withdraw from their positions and leave the city, heading toward the temporary capital of Aden. This is not a military defeat in the conventional sense. It is a strategic and moral victory that exposes the rot at the heart of the Saudi-led coalition and the so-called "legitimate government" it props up.

The Collapse of the Western Front

For weeks, the Saudi-backed factions, the Islah Party militias, the mercenaries paid in riyals to kill Yemenis have been crumbling. The western front of Taiz, anchored by the strategic highlands of Jabal Han and the Sharab junction, was their last line of defense against the advancing forces of Sana'a. These positions overlooked the transport route connecting Taiz to Al-Turbah and Aden the lifeline that kept the puppet government's forces supplied.

That lifeline is now severed. On October 4, Ansar Allah forces took Al-Turbah, the administrative center of Al-Shamayateen District, cutting the main supply route between Taiz and Aden. The Saudi-backed forces fled in disarray over 20 military vehicles and five trucks loaded with weapons and ammunition were seen withdrawing toward the Sharjab road and from there to the Tur Al-Bahah area of Lahij. Some fled via the Al-Sihi–Hazaz and Al-Zariqa routes. The collapse was described as "unprecedented". By October 13, Ansar Allah forces had reached the southern entrance of Taiz, completing the encirclement of the city. They had already positioned themselves at the eastern and western approaches.

The "Safe Passage" That Exposes the Puppet Government

Now Ansar Allah has done what the puppet government's Western masters never would: it chose to prevent bloodshed.

A local source told Lebanon's al-Akhbar daily that Yemeni authorities were seeking to prevent bloodshed by allowing the Riyadh-aligned troops to leave the city under guarantees of safe passage. The general amnesty remains available to everyone except those who have "committed crimes and were subject to private legal claims and legal accountability".

Ansar Allah's political bureau member, Hezam Al-Asad, confirmed that Yemeni forces did not cut the road between Taiz and Aden they secured it. This is the distinction the Western media will never make: Ansar Allah is not interested in starving the people of Taiz. It is interested in liberating them. The roads are open. The siege is on the mercenaries, not the civilians.

And what have the mercenaries done? They have taken the offer and run. Several military, political, and party leaders have already left Taiz with the green light from Ansar Allah, under the protection of its forces, arriving in Aden and Ma'rib. The Saudi-backed forces are not fighting for Taiz. They are fighting for their own escape. The moment the road to Aden was opened, they took it.

The Saudi Regime Presses Them to Fight On

While the mercenaries flee, Saudi Arabia is pressing them to stay and die. Al-Akhbar reported that Riyadh is urging the remaining forces to fight on. The Saudis are not on the front lines. They are not in Taiz. They are not in Jabal Han. They are in Riyadh, sipping tea, while their paid proxies are told to sacrifice themselves for a war that serves Washington and Tel Aviv, not the people of Yemen.

The "legitimate government" in Aden the one the United Nations recognizes, the one the United States funds, the one that sits in luxury hotels while Yemeni children starve has said nothing about the safe passage. It has said nothing about the amnesty. It has said nothing about the fact that its own forces are abandoning their posts and fleeing to Aden. It cannot say anything, because to acknowledge the truth would be to admit that its entire claim to legitimacy is a fiction. The puppet government does not govern. It occupies. And when the occupation collapses, it runs.

The Humanitarian Catastrophe That Was Always a Lie

For years, the Western media has parroted the line that Ansar Allah's siege of Taiz is a "humanitarian disaster." The Saudi-backed health ministry warned of a "humanitarian catastrophe" in the city, with medicine, medical equipment, and fuel "on the verge of running out". The New Arab ran headlines about Taiz facing a "humanitarian disaster as Houthis tighten siege".

But if Taiz is facing a humanitarian catastrophe, who is responsible? The Saudi-led coalition has bombed Yemen for twelve years. It has imposed a naval and air blockade. It has killed hundreds of thousands of Yemenis. It has created the conditions for famine, cholera, and disease. Ansar Allah did not create the catastrophe in Taiz. The Saudi regime did. And now Ansar Allah is doing what the Saudi regime never did: opening the roads, allowing safe passage, and preventing bloodshed.

The mercenaries in Taiz were not defending the city. They were holding it hostage. They were using the civilian population as human shields, knowing that Ansar Allah would hesitate to attack a city full of civilians. Ansar Allah called their bluff. It encircled the city, cut the supply lines, and offered the mercenaries a choice: leave or die. They left.

The Road to Aden Is Open. The Road to Liberation Is Clear.

The fall of Taiz is not just a military victory. It is a political earthquake. Taiz is Yemen's third-largest city, the most populous in the governorate, and a strategic hub linking the highlands to the south. Its liberation or its peaceful handover would be the most significant gain for Sana'a since the war began.

The mercenaries who fled to Aden are not safe. Aden is the "temporary capital" of a government that does not control its own territory. It is a city riddled with infighting, where the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council fights the Saudi-backed Islah Party for control of the port and the oil facilities. The mercenaries who fled Taiz are fleeing into another trap, another battlefield, another proxy war between masters who see Yemen only as a chessboard.

The people of Taiz, meanwhile, are watching. They have watched the Saudi-backed forces loot, extort, and oppress them for years. They have watched the "legitimate government" do nothing for them. They have watched the Western media ignore their suffering while amplifying every Israeli claim about Gaza. And now they are watching Ansar Allah open the roads, offer amnesty, and allow the mercenaries to leave without a fight.

The contrast could not be starker. The Saudi regime bombs. Ansar Allah builds. The puppet government flees. Ansar Allah stays. The West funds the mercenaries. The resistance protects the people.

This is the truth that the Western media will never report. This is the narrative that the puppet governments of the region cannot survive. The liberation of Taiz is not just the liberation of a city. It is the liberation of a people from the lie that their only options are Saudi tyranny or Western-funded chaos. Long live Yemen.
Long live Ansar Allah. Long live the Axis of Resistance.
