Filibuster Thread by Kevin Kruse

Kevin Michael Kruse (b. 1972) is an American historian.
He is professor of history at Princeton University. His research interests include the political, social, and urban/suburban history of 20th-century America, with a particular focus on the making of modern conservatism. Outside of academia, Kruse has attracted substantial attention and following for his Twitter threads where he provides historical context and applies historical research to current political events.

This post is my attempt to curate a March thread that went viral. The original images become more readable by opening them one at a time in a new tab for closer inspection.

As this thread blows up, I should stress this isn't remotely an exhaustive list -- I did it quickly and I didn't repeat years in which there were multiple filibusters on different civil rights issues.
But it should still give a sense of the "racial history" in the filibuster.
