How Fertilizer is Made from Oil and Gas
Synthetic fertilizers cannot exist without the oil and gas industry. Their relationship is built on two primary chemical dependencies:
  • Natural Gas and Naphtha as Feedstocks: To make nitrogen fertilizer, chemical plants use natural gas (methane) or naphtha (a liquid hydrocarbon derived from refining crude oil).
